Health protection in welding
Fumes produced by welding have been classified as hazardous substances.
Welding fume particles can be inhaled and might get into the lungs. Those
from nickel chromium steel are carcinogenic.
Therefore, welding fumes should be collected at their source to their full extent, if
possible, and disposed of in a safe way.
The extracted air must be conveyed such as to allow as little welding fumes as
possible to get into the operators' breathing air. Feeding back the air into
the working area is only allowed after sufficient cleaning.
Extracting and filtering units from ULT AG as well as the corresponding
accessories in the form of extration arms collect the hazardous welding fumes at their source and provide for intense filtering (BGIA-tested filtering equipment).
