Filter selection

The choice of the suitable filtering principle depends on the type and the quantity of air pollutants to be removed.

The following types are available:

  • Saturation filtering units
  • Cartridge filtering units
  • Modular combination-type filtering systems

 Saturation-type filtering units

Particularly suitable
  • for relatively low smoke development
  • for separating tacky smoke components
  • for malodorous emissions

Principle
  • The raw gas extracted passes through a specific filtering system.
  • Dust and gaseous pollutants are separated.
  • The cleaned air gets back into the working room.
  • After a certain time in operation, the filter elements will be saturated and must be replaced.
  • These easy-to-change filter media guarantee low running costs.

 Cartridge-type filtering units

Particularly suitable
  • for dry pollutants in large quantities

Principle
  • Surface-type filtering by means of cleanable filter elements.
  • Pollutants are separated on the surface of the filter cartridge.
  • Cleaning is done automatically by means of compressed-air reverse purging.
  • The precipitated dust accumulates in a dust collecting bin.
  • The cleaned air gets back into the working room.
  • The filter cartridges have a long life.

 Combination-type filtering units

Modular systems facilitate combinations of cartridge and storage filters


Particularly suitable
  • for complex types of pollutants
  • if operating conditions change

Principle
  • The extracting unit is sub-divided into several functional levels.
  • For each level, a choice of combinable modules is available.
  • The vacuum generator always forms the basic level.
  • It is the basis of freely selectable cleanable cartridge filters for big quantities of pollutants and/or for "Hepa filters" withholding smallest pollutant particles.
  • Completed by various pre-filter and afterfilter means, persistent pollutant combinations can thus be collected and filtered out.
  • For any application, a totally specific solution can be configured, for example, for various materials and pollutants.
